SBC February's Alterered Challenge
Can you believe I made this page from TRASH! Well, Believe it! :)

Let me start from the begining because the website I am about to tell you about is great! Mutiple fun monthly challenges with a great monthly prize, hundres of fun page floorplans, a scrapbooking forum, TONS of good stuff!

O k, as always, I was snooping around the internet, looking for neat scrap stuff and stumbled upon ScrapbookChallenges.com. I was intrigued. I clicked on the challenges and there where a plethera of great floorplan challenges, challenges that tested your creativity, and more. I chose the altered challenge. The objection was to keep with the SBC's monthly theme (relationships) and use things you would normally throw out, on a page. This was exciting yet difficult for me because I save everything. LOL!

The materials I used in my pretty page
So once i had my mission I began gathering neat little treasures. The "vine" is a shredded cardbord piece that  I got out of a package from work. (It was like a filler for  in the box) I saved some dryer sheets because the texture kinda reminded me of a softer tule.  Tops to a few boxes that wine glasses came in. And of coarse, news paper.

I added some pretty papers and some nice journaling in the corner and sweet picture of my love and I. A few rub ons (a new endevour for me as well), and some hot glue, I was done. Super simple and so cute!

SBC hasn't posted the winners yet but either way i'm so happy with the page! I plan to use the rest of my supplies on other projects. I've got LOTS of ideas! :)

So I encourage you to check it out and try something new!! March's new challenge is All About Me. I'm giving myself a personal goal to used some kind of mixed media..

Soo.. I've been hearing about a type of scrapbook called a SMASH book. It's like a random stuff kinda album. You can put anything from pictures to ticket stubbs to reciepts to track price inflation for future generations.
My grandmother has a ticket book from the original Dumbo and teacup ride at the Disneyland park in California, $.60 per ride in the 60's! Whoa!
Anywho, I have a stash of pictures ranging from my baby pictures to photos from high school of my friends and classmates. I've also got ticket stubs from my first New Orleans Saint's Game, a monologe I portrayed  my freshman year in highschool, all kinds of things!
These would be a good option for a scrapbook but I'm looking to put them all in one book and they don't really have a common theme to me. I can even add pages for those random things that come along in the future.
I'm really excited to try this out! If anyone has done one or have any ideas to share, I'd love to hear about them! If your in the same boat as me, here are some neat blogs I found that have great examples! Let me know how you do!!
